Rwanda : EAC media practitioners to boost integration process
The East African media is expected to play a larger role in the bloc’s integration process in the region by informing the public more on EAC integration.
This comes as the ministry of East African Community and the East Africa secretariat; prepare to hold the 5th East African media summit starting Thursday to Friday next week in Kigali
Saraphine flavia, communication officer the ministry of East African Community, says during the summit, they will discuss the role of media in integration and how agreements signed by member countries to develop citizens are implemented”
“It will be a time to discuss and analyze the role of media in the East Africa development, and how media can participate to the integration process” Saraphine flavia, communication officer of MINEAC revealed.
She added that it will also be an opportunity to find out what the community has achieved.
The EAC summit for journalists will be an opportunity for Rwandans media practitioners, to learn from other East African media which will participate to the summit.
Rwanda and Burundi joined the East Africa community on 1st December 2006 pushing the bloc’s population to over 120 million people.
