m_MHC aims to fight unprofessionalism in media sectorMedia High Council of Rwanda (MHC) is set to offer short courses for media practitioners to upgrade their media skills after several complaints of unprofessionalism in media sector.

The Council released announcement on 14th January on its official website calling up media practitioners to register for short courses to strengthen their reporting skills.

The short courses will be mainly for journalists dealing in special reporting, investigative, sports and showbiz due to the lack of skills noticed in above fields.

According to the executive secretary of MHC, Emmanuel Mugisha revealed the aim of short courses due to start in February -May this year.

“Some of the journalists in sports and entertainment fields lack skills on reporting investigative stories and MHC initiated the opportunity for willing journalists free of charge to upgrade their skills” says S/executive Emanuel Mugisha.

He added that such courses help journalists to always report for the public interests with full confidence and to always consider media ethics while practicing journalism.

The willing journalists are only asked to register with media high council with full required documents including press card issued by MHC and other academic credentials listed on official announcement.
